Tanja Vos is a professor at the Open Universiteit in The Netherlands and the Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain. With more than 25 years of experience in software testing, she has significantly contributed to advancing software testing through extensive research and practical applications.

Professor Vos has always been actively involved in bridging the gap between academic research and industry practices in software testing. She has played a pivotal role in several projects aimed at enhancing software testing methodologies, including the development of TESTAR, a tool for automating system testing at the Graphical User Interface level. Moreover, her work emphasizes the need for a paradigm shift in the teaching of software testing from a rationalism-based approach to one grounded in empiricism, especially in the context of testing AI systems. This shift calls for critical human testers to assess the behavior of increasingly complex systems critically.
